Chris

Chris: Chris came to Turkey in 1999 and to Kabak in 2001 for the first time. He settled in Kabak Valley in January, 2002, and began designing and building everything from the ground up (see Reflections Camp Story). When he isn’t thinking up new designs for the camp or working he can be found reading, daydreaming or playing Frisbee on the beach.

Seckin: Seckin arrived to our camp from Karsiyaka, Izmir in May 2010. He always has a nice smile on his face and impresses our guest with his homemade bread. Seco-boy is still working on making bread, welcoming guests and taking care of reservations.

Seçkin

Gunes: Years ago, she was cooking in Cihangir area, in her restaurants; Manca, Sarımsak and Çorba&Cila. Now, spends her time talking with garlics and mushrooms; getting along with the rice in the natural camps during summers. She kindly ask them to transform for her with love and compassion. Everybody is happy; and so she is..:)

Nevres

Deniz: Having been loyal to Reflections Camp for more than 8 months in a period of over three years, Deniz has found a second home in this beautiful valley. Born in Istanbul, but having spent most of his life in Western Europe, Deniz, in a way, is in a process of going “back to the roots”. Whether it is sleeping on the beach or running through the mountains, he greatly enjoys staying and being in nature. As far as his responsibilities in the camp are concerned, he’s the camps’ hatchet man. He can be seen shopping in nearby Fethiye in a 1994 Lada-Jeep, doing construction work, repairing broken things, or alternatively being the barman, he’s doing it.

Duygu: Born in Edirne, Duygu, first came to our camp in May 2010 as a guest. A month later, she came back as volunteer and joined the other smiling faces. She can be seen preparing breakfast and helping our cook for dinner. In her spare time, she loves hangin' around having fun with her friends and reading books.

Cindy: Born in Switzerland and raised in Izmir, Turkey, Cindy is currently taking a few months break from her job as HR & Finance Manager with a prominent humanitarian NGO. She came to Kabak to  experience something simple and pure, enjoy the magic of each moment,  the tranquility, the fine food and beautiful nature. She can be seen covered in lime as she works on the new Earth-bag structures, discussing new ideas with Chris, writing under an olive tree on one of the platforms and hanging out at the bar.
